Singer Dmytro Volkanov, known as VOLKANOV, recently shared his opinion about the scandal surrounding Verka Serdyuchka. This situation caused an uproar in society after the pop star's performance on the stage of a capital club with Russian-language hits.

Scandal with Verka Serdyuchka: what happened?

During Verka Serdyuchka's performance, many users reacted critically to the repertoire due to the use of the language of the occupier. This caused a lot of negative comments on social networks. VOLKANOV, who gave an interview to Alina Dorotyuk, decided to react to this situation.

VOLKANOV: "Eyewitnesses danced until the last song"

Volkanov expressed his position quite frankly, noting that he saw how "great patriots" continued to dance to Russian-language songs until the end of the performance.

"I personally saw with my own eyes how these people who wrote all these comments, they stood and danced until the last song. And then they turned on the 'great patriots' and came home to write this shit, " said the singer.

Answer by Anna Tulyeva

The author of the viral clip from the concert, vlog host Anna Tulyeva, did not stand aside and reacted to VOLKANOV's comment. She accused the artist of slander, noting that she left the club immediately after she heard the Russian language on stage.

"All the men from my family are on the front lines, my brother was captured and both brothers have awards for the defense of Borodyanka. So who here 'turned on the patriots'? I couldn't stay at this concert after hearing the Russian songs, because I was simply sickened by the language of the enemy! Everyone has their own way, but even my body reacted to it that way!", Tulyeva emphasized.

Andriy Danylko's position

Volkanov added that it is better to contact Andrii Danylko personally on this matter, because he is fair and knows what he is doing. The singer also noted that it is possible to lie in a vyshyvanka, steal money, as many deputies do, and it is possible to sing in Russian and collect funds to help the Armed Forces.

This scandal drew attention to the language issue in the cultural sphere, causing heated discussions about the permissibility of using the Russian language at concerts in Ukraine. Time will tell whether this event will change the views of the artists and their approaches to the repertoire.
