Saved by a hero: the story of Oleksii "Dancer" from Vugledar
Oleksiy, the son of a famous concert organizer, became a symbol of courage and hope for many Ukrainians. His story begins with a peaceful life in the IT field, but changed at the beginning of a full-scale war, when he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces.
From an IT specialist to a freedom fighter
Oleksiy distinguished himself in the service with his ability to control drones as part of the 72nd brigade. Despite the dangers, he always found time to dance, for which he received the nickname "Dancer". However, during one of the battles in Ugledar, he and his comrades were captured.
Miracle under Ugledar: a rescue that no one expected
The captivity became a real test for Oleksiy: severe wounds, hunger and lack of hope. But fate prepared an unexpected gift for him. Kane Te Tai, a New Zealand volunteer, did not leave Oleksiy alone with his troubles. Kane, who came to Ukraine at the call of his heart, saved Oleksiy, but he himself died near Bakhmut two weeks later.
"My goal is to try to help people..." — that's how Kane said about his motives.
Returning to life: new challenges and hopes
Returning to Kyiv, Oleksiy prepares to be discharged from the army. Although he still has a bullet in his back, it does not stop him from planning for the future. His story is not only about physical salvation, but also about the power of the human spirit, which inspires and makes you think about the value of life.
