A Love Story to Remember: Jamala and Bekir Suleimanov's Journey

For a considerable time, Jamala kept her relationship under wraps, only dropping subtle hints about her mysterious boyfriend. "He's a Crimean Tatar, " she'd say, without disclosing more. Bekir, deeply in love, proposed several times but faced rejection. It wasn't until a surprise proposal orchestrated in Lviv that Jamala's heart melted.

"I was sure Bekir was in Kyiv, " Jamala later recalled, describing her shock at finding him on the rooftop of Lviv's town hall, flowers and ring in hand.

Their wedding, a grand celebration of Crimean Tatar traditions, was attended by 165 guests who witnessed the union of two hearts in a culturally rich ceremony. Soon after, the couple whisked away to the romantic streets of Rome and Florence for their honeymoon.

Bekir's unwavering support became evident when he pushed Jamala to participate in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, a decision that led her to a stunning victory. "Jamala's performance was not just a win for her, but for the entire nation, " many proclaimed.

Expanding Their Family

Their journey continued to blossom with the birth of their children: Emir-Rahman in 2018, Selim-Giray two years later, and most recently, Alim Seit-Bekir in May 2024. Each addition marking a new chapter in their ever-evolving story.
