Actress Yevgenia Myakenka, known for her roles in the series "Yurchyshyn", "Papik" and many others, after her husband Oleksandr Zarubei signed a contract to serve in the Armed Forces, shared her thoughts about Ukrainian men and their actions.

New perception of men

"You know, when Oleksandr volunteered, I began to look at other men, at their actions, in a different way, " Yevgenia admitted.

The actress notes that after her husband went to the front, she began to notice how many healthy men spend time in restaurants, while others risk their lives in the trenches.

Experience and pride

Evgenia says that at first, when Alexander decided to go to the front, she cried. But now she is incredibly proud of her husband. Oleksandr, who comes from temporarily occupied Alchevsk, has always felt uneasy about the situation in Ukraine.

"Now my husband is in training. Ever since the beginning of the full-scale war, he rushed to the front. First, he joined the Terrodefense, patrolling the territory, and then we volunteered together, helping Ukrainians abroad."

Change of perspective

Evgenia calls on Ukrainians who are in the rear to be more careful in their actions and not to show off their fun life. She believes that such acts can hurt those who risk their lives at the front.

"I've already heard several times: 'Let others go to fight. I'm not stupid'. And what will you tell your children later? Son, I was a dodger, I sat at home, afraid to go out?"

A new stage in life

Oleksandr Zarubei, who always felt a call to service, finally fulfilled his intention. He signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is currently undergoing training in the Third Separate Assault Brigade. Evgenia says that he is proud of his service and feels useful.

"Recently he came to us with his son, he went to sleep on the bed in the evening, and then he says: 'Maybe I should lie down on the floor? Because now I will get used to the comfort.'"

The changes in Yevgenia and Alexander's life show how the war affects personal relationships and perceptions of the world around them. Their story is a reminder of the importance of conscious choice and responsibility towards one's loved ones and the country.
