The famous Ukrainian designer Yulia Magdych, who won the hearts of fashionistas with her unique embroidered dresses, faced the terrible consequences of the war. During the full-scale invasion of the Russian occupiers, her parents' house was destroyed. The family was left without a home, but thanks to Yulia's courageous action, they managed to avoid the tragedy.

Evacuation under fire

In the first days of the war, Yulia Magdych decided to evacuate her parents, grandparents from Kyiv to Lviv. She recalls how she persuaded them to go, not knowing how important the decision would turn out to be.

"At that time, I very actively persuaded them to come to Lviv, if not for themselves, then for the sake of their grandparents, " Yuliya shared.

A blow to the family nest

A few days after the evacuation, Julia's house was fired with three shells. Two of them exploded, causing significant damage, while one remained undetonated and was later defused. Other shells landed in a nearby pond, making it unsafe for swimming.

Restoration and symbolism

Magdych and his parents have already partially restored the house. The kitchen and bedroom have been tidied up, but one crack in the hallway remains as a reminder of the war.

"We left a crack that reminds us that the war continues. It's a symbol for us that we expect victory, " Yulia said.

State aid and hopes

Yulia applied for state assistance for housing restoration, but has not yet received any support. She understands that now the priority is given to military expenses, but she hopes that after the victory, Ukrainians will receive the necessary assistance.

"As a lawyer by education, I could not help but apply. I don't know if they will ever reimburse me, but let's hope, " she added.

Magdych continues to work on his JULIYA MAGDYCH brand, putting a piece of the Ukrainian soul into each product. Her story is not only about fashion, but also about resilience and faith in a better future.
