Yuriy Makarov explained the loyalty of Ukrainians to Alla Pugacheva during the war
Even during a full-scale war with Russia, many Ukrainians cannot give up their affection for Russian singer Alla Pugacheva. Honored journalist of Ukraine, Yuriy Makarov, explained in his interview why this phenomenon is not a "tragedy".
The historical context of the Diva's popularity
"It should be taken into account that at one time - she did nothing for this - but Alla Pugacheva was to some extent the expression of a barely perceptible opposition. She was too brave, too talented for the all-Soviet pop Russian-speaking context. She did not count with anyone in particular, did not pro-government speeches, " Yuriy Makarov explained.
Loyalty to the Diva: The Impact on Culture
The journalist does not believe that loyalty to Alla Pugacheva is a threat to Ukrainian culture. According to him, it has no influence on the modern cultural climate in Ukraine. On the contrary, her courage and talent in the past made her the voice of intelligence for many people who saw her at the height of her career.
"For my generation, talented was almost synonymous with anti-Soviet. There were very few pro-Soviet artists who, at the same time, would remain talented or bright. Therefore, I do not see this as such a tragedy. It definitely does not define the cultural climate in our country and in our environment, " Makarov added.
Views on the work of Maksym Galkin
It is interesting that Yuriy Makarov does not have an unequivocal opinion about the work and position of Maksym Galkin, Pugacheva's husband, because he never followed him. This, however, does not diminish his ability to analyze complex cultural phenomena and find important aspects in them.
Diva in the Russian and Ukrainian context
Despite the fact that some public figures, such as Andriy Danylko, continue to support the Prima Donna, Yuriy Makarov calls to evaluate her not only through the prism of contemporary political events. After all, many Ukrainians remember her as a symbol of talent and opposition.
"I remember that in my youth it was extremely talented, " the journalist recalled.
This context helps to understand why many Ukrainians still retain sympathy for Alla Pugacheva, despite modern realities.
