A creative atmosphere, emotional performances and unique poetry are waiting for the people of Zaporozhye on September 21. In the center of events is the Baida International Festival of Original Song and Poetry, which will be held for the 41st time. This event has a deep history and is an important event in the cultural life of the city.

Historical significance of the festival

The "Bayda" festival was founded forty years ago, and since then it has become a symbol of original song in Ukraine. In 2018, Olena Alekseeva, the artistic director of the Zaporizhia Theater of Poetic Song, created the Center of Author's Song, which gave the festival a new lease of life. Since then, the festival has gained even more popularity and has united numerous creative forces of the city.

Important guests and a rich program

This year's festival promises to be particularly intense. The headliner of the event will be one of the classics of Ukrainian author's song, Volodymyr Semenov from Kyiv. Guests from other cities will also take part in the concert, among which the group from Dnipro, led by Vadym Hefter, should be singled out. The third part of the concert is traditionally reserved for performances by Zaporizhia authors-performers.

Charitable mission of the festival

"Baida" festival not only gives unforgettable emotions, but also fulfills a charitable mission. Olena Alekseeva emphasizes:

"The audience has the opportunity not only to enjoy the concert, but also to support the children's and youth bard movement of Ukraine. Another part of the funds will be directed to support the wounded."

Support in conditions of war

Since the beginning of the war in eastern Ukraine, the festival has been held for only one day, but remains extremely rich. Olena Alekseeva and her colleagues from different countries actively help the Zaporizhia Military Hospital by donating funds from charity concerts for the purchase of medical equipment and other necessary items.
