The stage is set, the lights are ready, and all eyes are on the Ukrainian band Ziferblat as they prepare to take on Eurovision 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. With their unique sound and compelling narrative, they hope to capture the hearts of audiences across the world.

A Journey of Resilience and Creativity

Founded in 2015 by the Kyiv-based duo of twin brothers Danyil and Valentyn Leshchynski, along with Fedir Khodakov, Ziferblat has never shied away from pushing the boundaries of music. Known for their genre-bending style, the band is no stranger to the Eurovision stage. After narrowly missing the top spot in previous national selections in 2022 and 2024, they have finally secured their chance to represent Ukraine this year.

"This song is a reflection on the world we live in. It cycles through a day lived in dark times, from beginning to end, urging us to always seek the light, " Danyil Leshchynski passionately explains.

The Message Behind "Bird of Pray"

Ziferblat's Eurovision entry, "Bird of Pray, " is a poetic exploration of hope and rebirth. The track uses the metaphor of a bird to symbolize regeneration and resilience amidst adversity. As the band prepares for their performance on May 13, the first semi-final of the competition, they are optimistic about their spot, performing fifth—a "perfect golden middle, " according to them.

Will the Odds Favor Ukraine?

While bookmakers currently rank Ziferblat at 11th place, with odds of 2% for victory, the band remains unfazed. Their position has fluctuated since their national selection victory, but their spirits are high, fueled by the belief in their song's powerful message and their artistic integrity.

As the anticipation builds, fans and critics alike are eager to see if Ziferblat's "Bird of Pray" will take flight in Basel, potentially carving a niche for Ukraine in the annals of Eurovision history.
