Revealed: The World's Top Models Defined by the Golden Ratio
In an age where beauty standards are constantly being redefined, a London-based plastic surgeon, Julian De Silva, has turned to ancient mathematics to determine the world's most beautiful models. Using the Greek-originated concept of the "Golden Ratio, " De Silva has evaluated the faces of some of the most iconic figures in the fashion industry, and the results are fascinating.
Kate Moss Tops the List
It comes as no surprise that legendary supermodel Kate Moss clinches the top spot. With her symmetrical facial features, Moss scored an impressive 94.14%, showcasing her enduring appeal in the fashion world. De Silva highlights her "eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, and face shape" as nearly perfect, making her the epitome of ancient Greek beauty ideals.
Cindy Crawford Secures Second Place
Right behind Moss, Cindy Crawford takes second place with a close 93.87%. Her exceptional scores in the "chin, eyes, and forehead" categories nearly placed her at the top. However, a slightly lower score for the lips kept her from surpassing Moss.
"She could have won if not for the lower score on her lips – 84%, " De Silva remarked.
Tied for Third: Gisele and Jourdan
Sharing the third spot, Gisele Bündchen and Jourdan Dunn both stood out with their distinct features. De Silva notes that Dunn's "face shape and eye placement" are particularly remarkable, although her nose and forehead scores were slightly lower.
The Rest of the Top Ten
Winnie Harlow completes the top five, followed by Kendall Jenner, Liu Wen, Cara Delevingne, Emily Ratajkowski, and Naomi Campbell. Notably, Ratajkowski's nose was scored almost perfectly, while Campbell's brow shape was highly praised but her chin received a lower score.
This unique evaluation showcases how timeless beauty concepts continue to be relevant, melding the ancient with the contemporary. As the fashion industry evolves, these insights provide a refreshing take on how we perceive and appreciate beauty.
