In her new YouTube video, Brie demonstrates a daily stretching routine that helps her maintain flexibility and avoid injury while filming.
Daily stretching exercises
"If you, like me, spend most of the day at a desk in front of a computer, you should include some stretching in your schedule and take care of your body, " advises Larson.
Bree begins her workout with a sit-on-toes exercise to activate her core, lower body, and back muscles. Next comes the "cat-cow" exercise, which helps relieve muscle tension and open the spine.
Brie Larson's favorite exercises
One of the actress's favorite exercises is the "thread in a needle" stretch, which provides a good back stretch. She advises to be careful with this exercise and listen to your body.
For the lower body, Larson performs the "cobra" pose, which helps to be gentle on the lower back. Lunges also play an important role in stunt training.
Preparation for filming
"This exercise was especially important when training for stunts. I've done it thousands of times. You warm up during a fight, but when the cameras are moving, you start to cool down. So it's important to stay flexible, because that's when injuries happen, " Larson explains..
The star ends her stretching workout by doing shavasana, or corpse pose, which allows her to completely relax and thank herself for her work.
