BAH.ROMA's Ukrainian Transformation: A Blend of Music and Charity

In a heartwarming twist, Ukrainian alternative band BAH.ROMA, hailing from the vibrant streets of Kiev, has breathed new life into their 2015 hit "Na Glybyni" by releasing a Ukrainian version. This release comes not just as a musical venture but as a noble initiative blending art with charity.

A Journey Back in Time

The original "Na Glybyni" was more than just a song; it was a cultural phenomenon, serving as the soundtrack to the hit youth series "Kiev by Day and Night." Fast forward to today, and the song's creator, Romain Baharev, leads the charge in making music with a purpose. After the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, Baharev redirected his focus from merely creating melodies to participating in charitable acts. Yet, the enduring love from fans for "Na Glybyni" prompted a change of heart.

"This song is one of the most beloved I've written, originally in Russian. I promised a Ukrainian version once we raised one million hryvnias for Azov One, " shared Baharev.

TikTok's Role in the Revival

Before its official release, a snippet of the track caught fire on TikTok, with actress Evgenia Logai's video raking in nearly 4 million views. Her short clip underlined the emotional pull of the song's new version, capturing the nostalgia for more peaceful times while injecting fresh meaning for today's audience.

Nostalgia with a Purpose

This initiative is not just about revisiting old hits but about tying past musical experiences to current realities. By transforming this song into Ukrainian, BAH.ROMA not only connects with their roots but also supports those defending their homeland. Such a move not only rekindles memories but reinforces the power of music as a unifying and healing force.
